All About Rachel

I've been an artist my whole life - drawing was my favorite, until I found ceramics. I would draw flowers on EVERYTHING as a kid. Always, the same style, but a different pattern or flow. As I grew, so did the flowers and plants that I was drawing. I've been incorporating flowers into my pottery since the beginning of my journey.

I was watching the Martha Stewart documentary this fall when I started to think about pie. Specifically, the Thanksgiving pies I used to make with my mom, as a kid. She always adds a ruffle to the rim of her pie dough which I decided to add onto to the rim of some bowls I was making. Turns out I LOVE a ruffled rim on a cutesy bowl.

 

Ruffles and flowers are such an iconic duo that it just made sense to combine them together.
