I LOVE a big bowl. Wide pasta bowls are a particular favorite of mine - there's no danger of food sliding off the side of the plate AND you can evenly microwave a dish (unlike a standard bowl).
 
This bowl is a brown, speckled stoneware. The inside is covered with a white slip and then carved.
